Man is the only rational being made in the image of God We are responsible before God to act reasonably and rationally (Rom. 12:1-2) To act rationally is to act according to God’s truth, reality, and man’s well-being What man calls “wise”, God calls “foolish”!

A death without honor (2 Sam. 3:33) A death without understanding (Prov. 10:21) A death before its time (Eccl. 7:21)

In the OT, the fool (Heb. nabal) is one who is “senseless;” stupid, especially of the man who has no perception of ethical and religious claims In the NT, the fool (Gr. aphron) is one who is lit. “without the mind;” without reason, without thinking, senseless

Dying while renouncing God (Job 1:10; 2:10) Dying an unbeliever (Psa. 14:1; see 19:1; Rom. 1:20-23; Heb. 11:3) Dying uncaring about sin (Prov. 14:9) Dying after repeating the same old folly (Prov. 26:11; see 2 Pet. 2:20-22) Dying while trusting self (Prov. 28:26)

Dying while neglecting the “inside” (Lk. 11:38-40; see 1 Sam. 16:7; 1 Kings 8:39; Jer. 17:9-10; Lk. 16:15; Heb. 4;13) Dying unprepared (Mt. 25:1ff; Lk. 12:21) Dying not accepting the resurrection (1 Cor. 15:36) Dying a boaster (2 Cor. 11:16-21; see Acts 12:20-23) Dying in ignorance (1 Pet. 2:15)

Satan wants you to die a fool Think! Use your head! “Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Eph. 5:15-17)
