Comparison of countries health By: Omar El-Mousa 6E Warning: ( All this information is recorded in 2010. So please don’t ask.)

Introduction I will represent the country U.S.A and compare with the Canada, Mexico and Spain. My three indicators are percentage of people over weight, percentage of people that use tobacco and life expectancy at birth.

Reasons for choosing these countries I just chose all the three countries in North America randomly and I thought Spain would be close in general to Mexico.

Canada Vs U.S.A Vs Mexico Vs Jamaica Comparison of over weight percentages. Canada14.3% U.S.A30.6% Mexico24.2% Spain13.1% The average percentage of people who are overweight is 20.55%

Graph

Explanation This graph shows the comparison between the percentage of people that are overweight in the four countries I have chosen.U.S.A Is number 1 for percentage of obesity on this list and the worlds list. Next we have Mexico which is number 2 on this and the worlds list. Then we have Canada which is 3 rd on my list and number 11 on the worlds list. Finally I have Mexico which is 4 th on my list and number 12 on the worlds list.

Comparison of number or percentage of people who use tobacco. Canada17% 5milllion people U.S.A17% 5million people Mexico13million people Spain27.3% The lead country with people who smoke is Spain. The average percentage of smokers between this country is 21.325

Graph

Explanation This Graph shows the comparison between the percentage of people who smoke in the four countries I picked. First is Spain followed by Mexico. Then the U.S and Canada seem to have the same percent of smokers.

Life expectancy at Birth Canada81.29 U.S.A78.3 Mexico76.2 Spain80.9 The highest life expectancy is in Canada at 81.29 while Mexico is down at 76.2 The average life expectancy between these countries is 79.1725.

Graph

Explanation This graph shows the life expectancy at birth rate between the four countries that I picked. The country with the best life expectancy is Canada followed by Spain followed by the U.S. then comes Mexico.

Why I chose these three indicators. I chose Obesity and tobacco use use because I think they are the most common. I just randomly chose life expectancy though.

Conclusion For obesity the U.S.A is the top so the UN must put up more health care programs or put restrictions on how much junk food Americans eat. For tobacco use Spain is the highest so The UN should help the Spanish try to quit smoking by making them understand really what is a cigarette and what it really does to you. Mexico has the lowest Life expectancy So the Un should first see why this is. And then try to figure out solutions for it.
