8 The polish and German people felt that there will always be two cities instead of one, but they had positive thoughts about the future. They believed that the cities will continue to develop and work together. Most of the people didn’t consider the river as a border so the border didn’t have any special meaning to them. Language is a big separating factor, but people are interested in the idea of getting more bilingual kindergartens. The Słubice and Frankfurt (Oder) are connected to each other with many common projects and interests and the local people felt that the cooperation will increase in the future so the area is developing towards the borderland where local people live together in closer relationship with each other.
