The most disastrous vacation I ever spent with my family was the year we went to Lake White Rock. _______, we had been told that our cabin overlooked the water. _______, while we could see the water, it was a 20-minute walk over hot concrete and burning sand. Luckily, it was a small fire. _______, we came back to find our belongings and our clothes smelling of smoke. We were moved to another cabin—even farther from the lake, of course. _______ , we were determined to make the best of it. And we might have, had my dad not broken his leg waterskiing. _______, our vacation was cut short. We headed home with Dad in a cast, Mom driving, and the rest of us in very bad moods.
