User Requests Page HTTP “Get” Command is issued to locate content. Content Requested from Server. Server Receives Request Server Responds with Static Page.

Screen Scraping –Also used in “Freeware” tools like VNC. –Is acceptable for simple information updates “Moment in Time” Data. –Does not offer “Real Time” Data Performance. Screen Scraping –Even a simple Push Button State Change Requires an entire new image be transmitted. –Technology is very bandwidth intensive. –Lacks scalability on Remote Users.

Provides more throughput than simple HTML and offers Object Oriented approach for some animation. However it is still Polling Based and is best suited to low bandwidth applications – not well suited for Real Time – 2 way Interaction.

Client software must be purchased and installed – Can’t simply connect from a Browser.
