3 Information in the drawing Varies depends on the purpose of the drawing Usually it is: 1.Title, draftsmen, date, stage, etc. 2.List of parts (specification) 3.General dimensions and connecting dimensions 4.Notes: general or practical

4 Tools used in order to give information: Parts identification: use of leaders 1.Avoid vertical and horizontal leader line 2.Avoid leader lines parallel to the contour or hatching direction 3.Leader lines terminate with dot or arrow in the interior of the part 4.Identification is done via numbers 5.Numbers are positioned on shelf or circle attached to the leader and arranged in a neat manner

5 List of parts shall contain: 1.Identification number (item) 2.Drawing number of the part (it is omitted when standard items from shelf are used i.e. bolts, nuts, washers, etc.) 3.Title of the part 4.Quantity used in one assembly 5.Material List of parts can be part of the drawing or separate document linked to the drawing via note (example: “For list of parts see 11-102-12doc”)

6 Notes Information in notes can vary depends on the purpose of the drawing and practicality. It could be: – General information of the product like weight, application options, physical properties, colour and finish options, etc – Instructions on assembly process – References to other drawings, documents and standards – Etc.
