As animals like tigers, elephants and rhinos lose habitat they can become endanger of extinction. For example, in the early 20th century there were 40,000+ tigers in the wild. As the population rapidly increases and urbanizes, more waste and pollution is created. 11 4. The Green Revolution The growing population in South Asia created a shortage of food and frequent famines. In order to increase food production, new crop varieties and new technologies (like irrigation projects and new fertilizers) were developed. Sketch the four main effects of the overpopulation of South Asia? What effect has overpopulation had on the environment? In what ways has the Green Revolution both positively and negatively impacted South Asia? Create four laws that would address the problems associated with overpopulation. Explain each of your laws. Identify the groups that would be the most upset about your new policies. Explain why they would be mad.
