3 I N T R O D U C T I O N In the last year we had more than a hundred Visitors to Care & Share – people who came not just to see but to stay and contribute. This is the prime indicator of the vibrancy of Care & Share. Apart from the fact of the number of children and families who have been helped and the volume of assistance given in the last year (seen in the following pages of the Report), to me, that so many people volunteered their time speaks volumes about Care & Share. I must thank all our Donors for their precious help and all our Sponsors who are changing the lives of so many: one child at a time... one day at a time! Some special people need a special – Thank you! Thanks to Anna Zegna for her constant encouragement and interest in Care & Share. During the year she sent several “experts” to Care & Share to seek ways and means to make us more professional and more self-reliant. With her help we are about to upgrade our Tailoring unit into one which, we hope, will support Care & Share in the future. Thanks to Mr Arnaldo Zappa for his continued support for “our” BUTTERFLY HILL VILLAGE project. Thanks to him we received two Containers with IKEA furniture and our Babies’ Home and Butterfly Hill Dispensary now have beautiful beds and furniture. Thanks to Dr Paolo Bortoluzzi and Dr Evaristo Arnaldi and the Clown group. In more ways than one you have given our children beautiful smiles! Thanks to Hayward and Edite Rigano of Colorado, USA, for their help to build the Guardian Angel Dispensary and for making it possible to provide medical care for our HIV+ children at Butterfly Hill. In January we celebrated “DADDY’S HOME IS 10 YEARS OLD”. It was a very nostalgic moment to recall the first tentative steps which Care & Share took as a toddler. Thanks to our first Angels – Graziella Vigo, Rena Garazioti and Mara De Bellis. Thanks to Dr Stefano Del Torso and all the Doctors of CCWW for healing our children. My thanks go to each and every one who gave their skills, their time and above all their love to the children. They have certainly impacted the lives of our children...and we will never really know how much... but definitely very profoundly! Noel Harper Chairman
