2 New Delhi is the capital and the third largest city of India. Delhi, unwinds a picture rich with culture, architecture and human diversity, deep in history, monuments, museums, galleries, gardens and exotic shows. Comprising of two contrasting parts, the Old Delhi and New Delhi, the city is a travel hub of Northern India. The city that has served as the political, financial and cultural centre for generations. And to the several empires of ancient India, most notably that of the Mughals.

3 The tall and ever attractive monument of Delhi which can be seen from most parts of the city is called the Qutub Minar. It has 378 steps which takes good amount of energy to reach at the top. The top of the tower gives an insight to Delhi. It is the world's tallest brick minaret with a height of 72.5 meters (237.8 ft).

4 Qutab Minar is another great masterpiece of Mughal architecture. It has a number of floors or storeys which has beautiful carvings. There are inscriptions all round the tower and these inscriptions reveal that Iltutmish finised the tower. The structure of the wall is made as such that it widens from top to bottom, just to make the minar stronger.

5 The India Gate is the national monument of India. India Gate is constructed as a memorial and was built in the memory of 90,00 soldiers who laid down their lives during world war I. The names of the soldiers are inscribed all along the walls of the arch. Located at Rajpath, India Gate is 42 m high. Also known as the All India War Memorial, India Gate was designed and constructed by Lutyens. He was the one who is considered the chief proclaimer in designing the New Delhi plans. It is also a popular relaxation area during the summer evenings. India Gate also act as popular picnic spot during winter.

6 RED FORT is a 17th century fort complex constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the walled city of Old Delhi.it was completed in nine years. The British used it as a military camp until India was made independent in 1947. It is now a popular tourist site, as well as a powerful symbol of India's sovereignty. It also showcases the very high level of art form and ornamental work.The walls of the fort are smoothly dressed.

7 Gandhi Smriti formerly known as Birla House or Birla Bhavan, is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.The museum in the building houses a number of articles associated with Gandhi's life and death. Visitors can tour the building and grounds, viewing the preserved room where Gandhi lived and the place on the grounds where he was shot while holding his nightly public walk. Outside the house stands a pillar that contains a swastika symbol. The pillar is known as, and is used as, an example of how context can change the ethical nature of information, and the interchangability of symbols across societies.Mahatma Gandhi

8 LOTUS TEMPLE serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent. It has won numerous architectural awards and been featured in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. The Lotus Temple is open to all regardless of religion, or any other distinction.The laws emphasize that the spirit of the House of Worship be that it is a gathering place where people of all religions may worship God without denominational restrictions.

9 AKSHARDHAM is a Hindu temple complex in Delhi, the complex displays millennia of traditional Indian and Hindu culture, spirituality, and architecture sits on the banks of the Yamuna The monument, at the center of the complex, was built of the Vastu Shastra and Pancharatra Shastra. The complex features a large central monument crafted entirely of stone, exhibitions on incidents from the life of Swami narayan and the history of India, It features theatre,musical fountain, boat ride, etc. AKSHARDHAM

11 The Masjid-i Jahān-Numā, commonly known as the Jama Masjid of Delhi, is the principal mosque of Old Delhi in India. Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, builder of the Taj Mahal. The later name, Jama Masjid, is a reference to the weekly Friday noon congregation prayers of Muslims, Jummah, which are usually done at a mosque, the "congregational mosque" or "jāmi' masjid". Under the domes of the mosque, is a hall with seven arched entrances facing the west and the walls of the mosque, up to the height of the waist, are covered with marble.

14 Metro rail service in Delhi has come as a much awaited gift for the people of Delhi, which has indeed changed the transport facility of the city. It has become the "life line" of Delhi as people are dependent on Delhi Metro for travelling to different places within the city. Delhi Metro Project has been recognized all over the world for its specialty in terms of a hi-tech rail and better equipped transport system. The project is under the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, DMRC and it deserves all the credit for transforming the transport service of the city. Metro rail in the city has reduced the traffic to some extent and the pollution level has certainly declined.
