9. Class Goals
To develop the skills and practices necessary to collaborate with medical researchers and create assistive and performance support applications.
To develop practical research oriented skills for interdisciplinary (or transdisciplinary) research.
To provide an overview of ongoing and emerging research topics in medical informatics.

Medical informatics is a systematic study of the identification, collection, storage, communication, retrieval, and analysis of data about medical care services to improve decisions made by clinicians.
