2 Malmö – the regions growth center Population increased for the 26th year in a row (+5000 in 2010) Malmö had 1.2 million visitors staying overnight in 2010 (80% from Sweden) In addition, approx. 5 million visitors made a daytrip to Malmö (excluding commuters) 6,000 homes built in the last five years Malmö is ranked number 15 in Sweden concerning the number of new companies in 2010 i.e. 8.6 new companies/1,000 inhabitants.
