3 The Flag Poems Read the first Flag poem as a class. Discuss by stanza the meaning of the poem. Turn and talk to your elbow partner to discuss who the narrator of the poem is. As a class, discuss who the narrator is and PROVE how you know- Cite examples from the poem.

4 The Flag Poems With your nine o’clock partner, read the second ‘The Flag’ poem. After reading it through once, discuss who is narrating this poem. Underline details in the poem to prove who the narrator is. If time allows, read through the poem a second time.
