The Office of International Education Function – Administer study abroad programs, advise students of opportunities and requirements, assist in record management, support participants and faculty advisors and maintain the study abroad library – Advise international faculty, scholars and students about immigration issues

Study Abroad 2000-2001 10 new study abroad programs implemented 5 new exchange programs – New Study Abroad Program locations Ghana, Morocco, Spain, Japan, New Zealand, Italy and Brazil

Study Abroad continued… Number of students participating in study abroad increased by 17.9% from 1999 to 2000. Over 15% of UGA undergrads study abroad – 1,244 this past year!

Study Abroad continued… Where do students study abroad? – 68.09% in Western Europe – 16.16% in Latin America, the Caribbean or Canada – 4.5% Africa – 4.26% Australia, New Zealand – 3.22% in Asia – 3.77% in other countries, including the Middle East, Eastern Europe and multiple regions

UGA at Oxford Program Established in 1989 by Dr. Charles Crowe under the auspices of the English Department and Franklin College of Arts and Sciences In May 1999 President Adams purchased a three-story Victorian house in North Oxford as the new home of the Oxford Residential Center. The Cortona Program Lamar Dodd School of Art 33 year old program A challenging opportunity for the art students who wish to combine international travel with intensive studio and classroom experience Approximately 200 students participate each year Over 500 colleges have been represented since the program began in 1970.
