1 Newton’s Second Law of Motion
BY: Kate Oberneder Science class 6th period

2 What is Newton’s Second Law of Motion?
The formula for Newton’s Second Law of Motion is A(acceleration)= F net(net force) divided by M(Mass)

3 An Example of Newton’s second Law of Motion!!
You push your friend on a sled. Your friend and the sled together have a mass of 70 kg. Net force on the sled is 35 N. What is the sleds Acceleration?? Plug in the known values F net = 35 N and m = 70 kg into the equation for Newton’s second law of Motion: a = f net divided by m = 0.5 N divided kg = .5 m divided by s squared times 1 divided by kg = .5 m/s squared

6 Picture OF A CONSTANT SPEED!

7 Acceleration Equation
The acceleration equation I is an object that goes in the same direction as the net force on the object. Acceleration = force divided by mass.

8 Newton’s second law!! The law states that force, mass and acceleration are all alike to one another.

9 What is Newton’s second law about??
The law is about that it pertains to the behavior of objects for which all existing forces are not balanced. The second law states that the acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables
