Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart. – Our God: Is consistent in judgment (John 12:48) Is not dependent on my opinion in judgment

Acts 17:25) “I do not accept devotion from those who do not obey Me” (16-23) “I am asking for devotion so you will recognize you need me” (14-15)

8 The Attitude Behind Devotion Do we exhibit the proper attitude of thanksgiving in our devotion? – Hebrews 13:15-16 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. – Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God

10 The Power to Heal Do we exercise thanksgiving when we need healing? – Psalm 73:16-28—considering God brings perspective – Philippians 1:3-7 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing… – I Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men

11 Thanksgiving is: The result of God’s justice The attitude behind devotion The power to heal Are we thankful?

12 Consider During the Lord’s Supper: Matthew 26:26-29 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
