Use these words in a sentence: ◦Tear ◦Wind ◦Close Different meanings, different pronunciation.

Stress Homographs You need to read the sentence to know how to pronounce most homographs. Ex: ◦The convict escaped from his jail cell. ◦The prosecutor is hoping to convict the suspected robber.

Challenge 3: Let’s brainstorm a list of 10 pairs of homophones and 20 true homonyms. MARK ANY WORDS YOU DON’T KNOW THE MEANING OF. With your table partner, write a poem, or short (very short) story that uses 10 pairs of these words. ◦If you use “bare,” then you also have to use “bear.” ◦Highlight each of the words
