All rights reserved. 3 McGraw-Hill/Irwin Introduction to Slide Masters New slides have specific layouts –Placeholders for title text, body text, etc. This layout determined by a slide master –Acts as a template –Provides layout scheme for each slide of the presentation Different Design Templates have their own slide master Slide master can be changed to affect all slides in the presentation

All rights reserved. 6 McGraw-Hill/Irwin Changing the Slide Master Some changes to slides need to be applied to all slides Edit the Slide Master to make global changes –Reduces revision time –keeps Consistency Example: –AutoNumber bulleted list can be enumerated by number, letter, or Roman numeral

All rights reserved. 15 McGraw-Hill/Irwin Using the Format Painter Occasionally need to copy the format of an object (text, AutoShape, etc.) –Without copying the object itself Format Painter tool –Allows copying of format from one slide object to an object in another slide –Also can copy the format from one presentation file to another
