3 Today, musical theater is centered in the “theater district” of New York City, along a street called “Broadway”.

5  Producer – the main person in charge from developing the beginning idea to hiring everyone else.  Composer – someone who writes the music.  Lyricist – someone who writes the words to the music.  Arranger - someone who takes a piece of music and organizes it, or lays it out, for the instrumentals and singers.  Conductor - someone who leads all of the musicians during the performance.

6  Choreographer - someone who teaches the performers all the dances in the show.  Director - someone who directs all the drama in the performance  Stage Manager- someone who manages everything about the stage.  Scenic Designer- someone who designs all the scenery for the production.

7  Light Designer- someone who creates all the lighting throughout the performance.  Costume Designer- someone who designs all the clothing the cast wears.  Pyro technician- someone who is in charge of any special effects such as fire  Prop Manager- someone who takes care of all the objects used in the performance.

8  Duet - When two people sing together.  Trio - When three people sing together.  Choreography - A dance routine.  Prop - An object used in a scene.  Overture - An instrumental piece of music played before the show begins.  Entr’act -The instrumental music played in between the acts of the show.  Prologue - Introductory lines spoken before the musical begins.
