3 SO GLOBAL, YOU CAN MEASURE CURRENCY VALUATION BY IT: The Economist measures the correctness of currency exchange rates based on the market price of a McDonald’s Big Mac in different countries and the market price of a Tall Starbucks Latte in different countries.

4 GLOBALIZATION- The process that links people around the world as a result of shared activities and interests. Fueled by Technology and an expanding communication network, globalization creates cultural, social, environmental, health, and economic connections among countries.  Not New!  Positive and Negative effects  Increasing in Speed and Depth based on improving communication and travel technology

10 GEOGRAPHY/AREA Positives Greater interactions between different areas of the world More movement of people around the world Greater ability of people to react to natural disasters Removal of geographic boundaries to trade, communication, etc. Negatives Environmental destruction in developing countries due to rapid industrialization Legal restriction to migration and isolationist policies People living in greater concentrations in international cities with strong access to trade are more susceptible to loss in a natural disaster Removal of geographic boundaries that have allowed people to maintain cultural practices and resist the dominant culture.
