11 Agricultural Education is a two-year course designed for instruction in animal science, agricultural business, plant science, conservation, landscaping, biotechnology, food science, agricultural mechanics, career exploration, leadership and personal development, and supervised agricultural experience. Students who successfully complete Agricultural Education will possess the skills and knowledge to enter the workforce or continue with formal education. Along with industry specified skills and basic academic skills Agricultural Education emphasizes the 21 st century skills necessary for gainful employment, such as attendance, teamwork, critical thinking and work ethic. Agricultural Education Course Description What does Agricultural Education have in it for me?  Eight career pathways Plant Systems, Animal Systems, Food Science, Natural Resources, Agribusiness Systems, Biotechnology Systems, Environmental Service Systems and Ag Mechanics  Partnership Opportunities Karbaumer Farm that works with all eight pathways  National FFA Organization Meeting new people across the state and nation through conventions and various other leadership opportunities What is planned for this year? MCC-Business & Technology and area high schools have developed a new program option for students eager to build skills in high-demand technical career fields: Construction Management CSIS-Cyber Security Engineering Technology HVAC Industrial Technology Students earn a certificate upon completion and head start toward completing an A.A.S. degree.
