5. The Cathedrals in Mexico City are a beautiful mixture of old European architecture and Christian Faith. Did you know that over 80% of the people in Latin America are Catholic?

8. In Mexico City, there is a blend of modern buildings and older architecture. You are really interested in seeing the Mexican Stock Exchange. Those skyscrapers make you feel like you are in the USA!

26. Welcome to Brazil Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

27. Your first stop in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro. Rio de Janeiro was formerly the capital of Brazil, until it was moved to Brasilia. This is just one example of how a city’s function changes over time!

29. Along with cities such as Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Caracas, Rio de Janeiro is located on South America’s populated rim. It is surrounded by the Brazilian Highlands, where you can see steep cliffs and escarpments.

30. You arrived for the Easter festival in Rio. You could see the African influence blended with the European Catholic religion at play at the celebration.

33. Here at the festival, you can hear different kinds of music, including the samba. There are many ethnic dances and costumes.

34. Off to the Rainforest…

35. The Amazon Rainforest is located in the Amazon Basin. Rainforests contain a variety of trees, insects, and animals. The Amazon Rain Forest is home to nearly half of the world’s plant and animal species

45. Deforestation is ruining the rainforest. We have already lost 13% of the Amazon Rain Forest. As the forest is depleted, plants and animals are threatened.

46. Additionally, many of the world’s medicines are derived from the plants and organisms in the Rainforest, deforestation compounds the risk of losing the potential to treat cancer and other illnesses.

48. The Amazon river extends almost 4,000 miles making it the second longest river in the world.
