Would it be beneficial to construct another lecture hall on campus? Why or why not? 2)About 32 students responded to this question and the response of almost 26 of them was a “Yes” due to the benefits that constructing a new lecture hall is going to provide such as more room for the upcoming students in the future. The other 6 responses varied from “No” and “Maybe” for the reason that there are other problems to focus on in campus such as teaching staff and transportations. 3)Most of the students who responded to this survey agreed to our proposal. Most students accepted our idea and viewed are request as really convenient due to the amount of the students that are enrolling to our school each year and the lack of room and classes that will stop them from finishing there major requirements on time. S URVEY QUESTION 1

Did you manage to get your intended classes for the full school year? If not, list what classes you did not get in to? S URVEY QUESTION 2 2)About 34 students responded to this question and the response of almost 23 of them was a “Yes” they did get the classes that they needed. The other 11 responses were “No” and the classes that were mostly mentioned were Math 11, Chem 2 and upper division Econ, Psy and sociology. 3)In my opinion we should have asked the students about their grade level instead of asking them about listing the classes they did not get. Because most of the students responded with “yes” but those students may not be freshmen which are the ones that are struggling mostly with that problem as I think.

Do you think UC Do Merced provides students with enough classes to suit your major each semester? 2)About 37 students responded to this question and the response of almost 67.57% of them was a “No” and the other 27.03% of students responded with “Yes” Also about 5.41% responded with “I do not know”. 3)Based on the responses to this survey more than half of the student does not think that UC Merced provides students with the classes that are required for their major. Those responses will help us in our proposal for building a new lecture that will provide more room for more classes for other minor majors. S URVEY QUESTION 3

Do you think it is fair that students have different registration times even though courses have limited spaces? Based upon 37 of surveys received and answered completely, it is confirmed that 67.51% of this student population believe it is fair that students have different regristation times. 25 people responded yes. There were about 12 students that said it was not fair amounting to a low 32.43%. During analyzing, we came to find out that perhaps the percentage of students that said can ultimately be upperclassmen as they do have first priority when registering for classes. As for underclassmen especially freshmen, they have last priority because regristation is based upon the number of credits you've earned. In order to compensate those students who did not receive their desired classes, more classes would result in more spots open for student to enroll in. S URVEY QUESTION 4

Do you think you will be able to complete your major requirements in a four year span with the current number of classes provided? Based upon 37 completed surveys, it is confirmed that 21 people said yes amounting to 56.76% serving as the majority voice. However, 43.34% said they wouldnt be able to complete their coursework in four years; 16 people. Taking on this question from an analytical point of view, some majors have more classes that require prerequistes needed in order to move on to your actual courses that are directed toward your major. However, the affirmatives did not completely overrule the negatives as there is only 13% difference. S URVEY QUESTION 5

Are you satisfied with the classroom layouts in general at UC Merced? Explain. There is an overwhelmingly number of students that said they are satisified with the classroom layouts, specifically 81.25% for various reasons such as close promixity of classrooms, technology, size, visiblity, and spacious. However, there were several responses that said for now they are suffice but as student population starts to increase rapidly, they will need more classrooms. On the other side of the spectrum for those who responded no, their reasons were that it was monotonous, more electrical outlets should be provided, and anothe lecture hall should be built. One interesting comment was that time slots of classes are too close to the point that as soon as students exit a class, there is number of students entering potentially causing atraffic jam. For the most part, the issue is about having more classroom building and anothe lecture hall on campus for incoming students. However to achieve this, more classroom buildings should be built along with another lecture such as COB 102 or perhaps even bigger. S URVEY QUESTION 6

Do you think that the building of new facilities is rapid enough to suit the increasing number of students enrolling? Answer: 26.92 % of people who answered this question said yes. 73.08% said no. The majority of students at UC Merced do not believe that campus construction is keeping up with the vast number of people enrolling. S URVEY QUESTION 7

If you could change one thing about the classroom what would it be? Why? Answer: 28 people responded to this question. Two people said nothing should be changed, and all the rest had very different opinions on what should be changed in our classrooms. The majority of people said they want the general physical appearance of buildings and classrooms to change. Other people commented on issues with classroom size, the need for another Classroom and Office Building, increasing the amount of seating and space in the classroom, and allocating more funding for these changes. S URVEY QUESTION 8

If you have had experiences with other UC campuses, are you satisfied with UC Merced’s lecture hall size? Answer: 5 people said they are satisfied with our lecture hall size, and 5 people said no. 3 people said they did not have an opinion or did not care because it doesn’t affect them. S URVEY QUESTION 9

How will information from the surveys influence your proposal? The majority of students would like a new buildings constructed faster and this shows that students are upset with the lack of facilities on campus. Though the majority of students said they got their classes, but there is a lack of upper division classes and this can be a correlation with lack of classroom space and times. What is repeated over and over in these questions are answers regarding the construction of more classrooms. There is a need for both quality and quantity in the construction of the new buildings to accommodate for the increase in annual student enrollment. O VERALL THOUGHTS ON OUR FINDINGS
