2 Christian Beliefs Originally designed to celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth also known as Jesus Christ. 3 Secular Traditions Christmas Tree- historically can be found as far back as the 1400’s. –Sometimes burned in the town square. –Decorating started in the 1700’s.
