Cardiorespiratory Fitness Muscular Endurance Muscular Strength Flexibility Body Composition Helps to prevent the onset of hypokinetic conditions – conditions that are caused by a lack of physical activity.

4 Skill Related Fitness Agility Balance Coordination Power
Reaction Time Speed Helps an individual perform well during sports or activities that require certain skills

5 COMPONENT DEFINTION AGILITY The ability to control the body’s movements and change the body’s position quickly SPEED The ability to move a distance or complete a body movement in a short period of time POWER the ability to use force with great speed BALANCE The ability to remain upright either while standing still or moving COORDINATION The ability to use two or move body part together well, or use the senses along with the body parts REACTION TIME The rate of movement once a person realizes the need to move.

Principle of Overload The only way to produce fitness and health benefits through physical activity is to require your body to do more than it normally does. F. I. T. T. Principle of Progression The amount and intensity of your exercise should be increased gradually. Principle of Specificity The specific type of exercise you do determines the specific benefit you receive.
