2  "Eating disorder" is when a person eats, or refuses to eat, in order to satisfy a psychic need and not a physical need.  The person doesn't listen to bodily signals or perhaps is not even aware of them.

3  Loosing a lot of weight in a short amount of time.  Wearing big or baggy clothes or dressing in layers to hide body shape.  Not eating when hungry and starving themselves.  Hiding food in strange places.

4  Eating disorders can be very disruptive, not only to the person struggling with the disorder, but also to friends and family members.  When someone has an eating disorder, it can become easy to forget about the other important people in life.

5  Happiness and self-esteem come from loving yourself for who you truly are and that’s only possible with recovery.  A health professional coordinate any treatment plan.
