2 Definition  Alcoholism, also known as alcohol use disorder, and generally refers to alcohol addiction, which is the compulsive and uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages.

3 What is an alcoholic?  An alcoholic is a man or a woman that have a distinct physical desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it, regardless of all rules of common sense.

4 Early age alcohol use Today, the average age a Colombian girl has her first drink near 13; for a boy 11. Young people who drink are more likely to be the victims of violent crime, to be involved in alcohol- related traffic accidents, and to have depression and anxiety.

6 Genetics  A kid with an alcoholic parent is more likely to develop a problem with alcohol at young age than someone without him.

7 For the acceptation of the society  Teenagers who believe alcohol makes it easier to socialize, for example, tend to drink more than those who don’t believe that alcohol loosens their social inhibitions.
