2 Transportation Alternatives Program o Combines previously separate programs Transportation Enhancements Safe Routes to School Scenic Byways Recreational Trails o Eliminates some project categories and some sponsors

3 Federal Cost Share Program o 80% Federal/20% State or Local o PennDOT will fund only the construction phase Approximately $41 million available o $25 million statewide o $16 million in Large MPO areas

4 Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Bicycle and Pedestrian Education (K-8) Conversion of Abandoned Railway Corridors to Trails Construction of Turnouts, Overlooks, and Viewing Areas Outdoor Advertising Management Historic Preservation and Rehab of Historic Transportation Facilities Vegetation Management Archaeological Activities Stormwater Management Wildlife Mortality Mitigation

5 February 4 th - Application Cycle Opens 28 th - Large MPO Guidance and Selection Procedures Due March 3 rd - Pre-Application Eligibility Determinations Due April 4 th - Project Applications Due 11 th - June 4 th - Project Scoring and Review

8 Pre-Application Eligibility Determinations Due by March 3, 2014 Only submit for projects that are not clearly eligible based on the guidance Determination to be provided by March 17 th Use SharePoint to coordinate Eligibility reviews All projects will be reviewed for eligibility after submission
