Includes 101 AOCs about 25% AOC total (33 Grand Cru; 635 1 st Cru;44 Village AOCs; 24 Regional AOCs) -Stretches 140 Miles from North to South Main Grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay Others: Aligoté, Gamay Six Wine Producing Areas: Chablis and the Grand Auxerrois  Côtes de Nuits: Mainly Reds; Gevery Chambertin; Nuits St. George  Côtes de Beaune: Known for Whites; Meursault; Montrachet; Reds: Pommard &Volnay – Along with Côte de Nuits makes up the Côte d’Or)  Côte Chalonnaise: Reds & Whites; Mercurey; Rully; Givry  Macônnais Mainly Whites: Poully-Fuisse Châtillonnais (Cremant d Bourgogne-sparkling wines)  Discussed as part of class Pinot Noir Grape: Thrives in cool climates; finicky-grape that portrays the essence of terroir: Fruity, earthy, elegant. Originated in Burgundy.
