4 THE MOBILE DATA EXPLOSION Key Facts: Global mobile data traffic grew 81 percent in 2013 2013 mobile data traffic ~18x the size of the entire global Internet in 2000. 2000: One exabyte of traffic (1 EB = 1 Billion GB) 2013: 18 exabytes of traffic. Mobile video traffic > 50 % for the first time in 2012 53% of traffic by the end of 2013. How do we deal with the influx of mobile data traffic???
