Edwin Hubble By Bobby Chacon & Chris Rowden

Background history Hubble lived from 1889-1953 He is widely regarded as the most influential observational cosmologist of the 20th century He was born in Marshfield, Missouri He studied law at Oxford After a few months he stopped practicing law and started back on astronomy. Which was considered his first love

Discoveries Discovered there are other galaxies Discovered that Nebulae were made of stars as well as gas.

Hubble’s Book Hubble published a book called The Observational Approach to Cosmology and The Realm of the Nebulae Book was written in 1936

Contributions to Astronomy Found that the Andromeda nebula was actually a galaxy Found that the Universe was expanding, with farther galaxies receding faster than nearby ones.

Death & Legacy Hubble died in 1953 Hubble spent most of his later life trying to prove astronomy as a type of physics Hubble telescope was named in honor of Edwin Hubble
