5. OLD AND DILAPIDATED BUILDINGS
Problem acute in island city, suburbs, Thane.

Island city: incentive FSI, cluster development
approach.
Suburbs: Policy is evolving pursuant to adoption
of Afzalpurkar committee report.
Thane: Issue being studied by Agarwal committee.

6. AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Reservation in DP for EWS/LIG Housing.
Reservation in housing schemes also.
Liberalizing FSI, particularly for MHADA
Cross subsidization.
Affordable rental housing.
Satellite township development.

7. HOUSING FOR PAPs
Major development projects underway.
Proper rehabilitation of PAPs necessary.

Property tax reforms are underway.
