Motion is real-time and previewable via i.LINK® connector/IEEE-1394 hardware or HD/SD - SDI to an external monitor. VST plug-in effect support: You can use effects to manipulate the audio components of your project. The included audio plug-ins can improve the quality of the audio in your project or create unique sounds. Vegas software supports additional DirectX and VST effects from a variety of vendors. Audio effects can be applied to all events on a track, to busses, or as assignable effects. Broadcast Wave Format support: Vegas software supports the industry standard Broadcast Wave Format. Multichannel Broadcast Wave Format files can be opened and edited like any other audio file, or can be imported and auto-arranged on the Vegas timeline based on the file timestamp metadata. Tape-style audio scrubbing: You can use scrubbing to scroll playback of your project at varying speeds. A tape-style scrubber above the timeline mimics dragging an analog tape past the playhead. Project nesting: Use project nesting to add a Vegas project (.veg) to the timeline and edit and apply effects the same as you would a standard media event. System-wide media management: You can use the Media Manager window to search and manage your collection of media assets so you can easily find the right file for your Vegas projects. 12 12 Stereoscopic 3D Feature: – Vegas Pro 10 provides the ability to import, adjust, edit, preview, and output stereoscopic 3D media in various formats. Delivery formats include single or dual files including sided-by-side, top/bottom, or line alternate encoding. Benefit: – Users can create stereoscopic 3D projects as easy as working with 2D with no additional tools needed. In addition to professional level delivery formats, Vegas Pro 10 can preview and deliver an anaglyphic project providing customers without an expensive 3D monitor the ability to create a 3D project with only a pair of inexpensive red/cyan glasses.

14 14 Closed Captioning Feature: – Vegas Pro 10 supports import and export of Line 21 closed captioning, CEA-708 uplift, HD-SDI closed captioning capture and print from AJA and Blackmagic Design cards as well as support for closed captioning file types and preview. Benefit: – Line 21 support provides a workflow for existing legacy media. Improved support for closed captions enables the user to preview captions in the Preview and Trimmer windows using overlays for increased accuracy and ease of editing. Other improvements include increased support for multiple Closed Captioning file types, as well as the ability to export for DVD Architect, YouTube, RealPlayer, QuickTime, and Windows Media Player.

Benefit: – Third-party developers will find it appealing and easy to create plug-ins for Vegas Pro. Benefit: —This enables the user to add the output of external audio devices into the final mix/render. Some hardware devices require this feature. Additionally, Real-time Rendering increases the possibilities for audio effects by enabling users to add their hardware effects to the mix using an input bus. 22

23 Track Header UI Update Feature: —The audio track headers provide a dedicated pan fader offering access to both the pan and volume faders at all time. In addition, Track Output Meters display audio levels during playback. Benefit: —Track Header improvements offer greater productivity by giving the user visual feedback of both volume and panning at the same time. Track Output Meters provide users with the ability to quickly isolate and compare audio levels. 23

24 Feature: – Vegas Pro 10 allows editors to assign audio effects at the master output, bus level, track level and NOW the event level for greater flexibility when working with multitrack projects. Benefit: – Audio Event FX provides more precise control over the placement of audio effects by offering the user the ability to apply an audio effect at the event level. 26 Broadcast Wave Format Metadata Feature: —Vegas Pro 10 can save audio files with Broadcast Wave Metadata when recording *.wav files in Vegas Pro 10 Benefit: —Broadcast Wave Metadata provides event start sample position of the recorded file and exact time when the recording is finished. This data supplies information that is used to synchronize audio data in Vegas Pro 10 or other 3 rd party applications. 26

27 Feature: – Vegas Pro 10 provides the ability to group tracks. Benefit: – Grouping tracks saves space on the Vegas Pro timeline by collapsing tracks under a single header track. The multicam preview has been enhanced so that you can see both the multicamera view and final output view simultaneously. Benefit: – After editing multicam video, Vegas Pro 10 now enables you to expand the single multicam track into multiple tracks, making it easier to see which videos are in the Vegas project and refine the edit. 30 30 Keyboard, Mouse, and Workflow Enhancements Feature: – New keyboard/mouse combinations have been added to streamline and add additional functionality to audio and video editing. Benefit: – The power of the mouse can be extended and enhanced by modifying the normal editing operation when certain keyboard combinations are added to the edit operation. Rather than having to stop the workflow to pick a different tool you can simply and quickly modify the functionality of the normal edit tool through keyboard combinations.

31 Device Explorer Improvements Feature: —Improvements have been made to the Device Explorer so that now you can: o Open files from the Device Explorer in the Trimmer o Drag & Drop media from the Device Explorer into the Media Pool and Trimmer windows Benefit: —This feature enables the user to view and trim the media in the Trimmer window without having to add it to the timeline first. The user will also be able to use the familiar Drag & Drop operations to add media to the Media Pool or Trimmer. 31

32 Updated Disc Burning Technology Feature: – Vegas Pro 10 now includes the Microsoft’s Image Mastering API (IMAPI) Benefit: – The Microsoft Image Mastering API (IMAPI) disc drivers offers increased drive support and stability while burning DVD and Blu-ray discs. Users are given the choice to use our legacy burn engine or the Microsoft technology in order to get the best quality and best burning experience their system can offer. 32

33 33 GPU Accelerated AVC Encoding Feature: – Vegas Pro 10 includes support for GPU-accelerated AVC rendering using the Sony AVC plug-in. Benefit: – Users with a CUDA-enabled NVIDIA® video card are able to encode to the Sony AVC format using GPU-accelerated rendering providing improved AVC rendering performance and speed, which allows final projects to be published faster than ever before.

34 Improved QuickTime AVC Decode Feature: – Performance and scalability improvement for QuickTime AVC files. Benefit: – This is particularly important due to the popularity of the Canon-line of DSLRs that record to QuickTime AVC. 34
