While it is possible that all of v 13 is a later insertion by the author, it is also possible that this is yet another instance of his use of hysteron-proteron, i.e., the arrangement of events in the reverse of their logical order (see 3:3, 17; 5:5; 6:4; 10:4, 9; 22:14). - Aune, Revelation, 1102.
