Let’s Practice 2-Digit Addition 3 1 Ask these questions: “Is the sum greater than 9?” “Is the sum a two digit number?” “Can the sum be split into tens and ones?” Begin adding in the ones column. 9 If NO, then write the sum and bring down the tens. 9 Let’s Compare Numbers We can compare numbers using >, < and = signs.  Line up the numbers vertically 30 32 Start at the left to compare digits in the greatest place first. Highlight the digits in the first vertical column where the digits are different.
