Introduction In our power point we will cover the future of computers and computer technology. We will also cover Moore’s Law, Artificial Intelligence, DNA computers, Quantum computers, and Optical computers.

The Future In the future there will be flying cars, cool new laptops, and new portable computers. There will also be new versions of the ipod.

Moore’s Law Moore’s law was adopted after Gordon Moore observed it in 1965. Gordon Moore was a co-founder of Intel. The observation was the number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits had doubled every year since the integrated circuit was invented. This trend would continue for the future is what Gordon Moore predicted. The pace slowed down in the next couple years. Approximately 18 months data doubles. This is the definition Moore’s law currently. Moore’s law is supposed to hold for at least 2 decades.

Artificial Intelligence Artificial Intelligence is a scientific branch. It helps machines find solutions to very hard problems in a human-like way. This branch involves borrowing human intelligence characteristics. Then applying them in a computer friendly way as algorithms..Artificial Intelligence is also know as Al. Al is associated with Computer Science. Also it has important links such as Biology, Maths, Psychology, Cognition, Philosophy, and more.

DNA Computers A DNA computer is a molecular computer. It works biochemically. DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleic acid. DNA computer use DNA strands to compute. This causes chain reactions. These chain reactions are a kind of simultaneous computing or parallel processing. They correct any problem they are given. They go threw the possible solutions and find the right solution.

Quantum Computers Quantum computers involve quantum particles as a replacement for the bit of today's computers. A theory of quantum began 20 years go. The man’s name was Paul Benioff. He was a physicist at the Argonne National Laboratory. He used the concept of the turning machines as a model for the quantum computer.

Optical Computers An Optical computer is a computer that uses holograms for compact data storage and laser beams for connections. An Optical computers is also called a photonic computer. These computers also use light beams. Optical computers allow light to be used to do computations. An Optical computer is faster than a regular computer. Computers that use light are also cheaper. These computers, by not using magnetic parts do not have as much electromagnetic interference. Finally, optical computers have superior storage ability.

Conclusion In conclusion, the future will have more technology, and everything will be more high tech. Scientists are still working on the Artificial Intelligence, DNA computers, Quantum computers, and Optical computers. Some time in the future we will have this technology and life as we know it will be changed forever.
