2 Outline  Discuss ways in which the use of media and mobile technologies can contribute to teaching and learning outdoors, and help capture learning that has taken place outside the classroom.  Investigate ways of using map tools to enhance teaching and learning in geography  Discuss the use of simulations for making sense of complex situations in geography.  Consider how findings can be represented through infographics, graphs and charts.  Apply some of these techniques to the development of a geography resource on an environmental theme providing challenge in terms of geography and ICT.

9 Project 2: Plan a short unit of work around a simulation tool on an environmental theme for pupils in Key Stage 2.  KS2 Attainment Target: Human and physical geography  Describe and understand key aspects of: physical geography, including: climate zones, biomes and vegetation belts, rivers, mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes, and the water cycle human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water.

11 Project 3 Produce a unit of work for year 3 pupils based on creating a digital trail. KS1 Geographical Skills and Fieldwork  Use fieldwork to observe, measure and record the human and physical features in the local area using a range of methods, including sketch maps, plans and graphs, and digital technologies.
