2 For each of the citizenship criteria, indicate if you: 1. Strongly Disagree 2. Disagree 3. Agree 4. Strongly Agree

3 Citizenship by Birth People are considered to be Canadian citizens by birth if they meet EITHER of the following criteria:

5 Citizenship by Birth Have at least one parent who is a Canadian citizen 1-Strongly Disagree; 2-Disagree; 3-Agree; 4-Strongly Agree

6 Citizenship by Naturalization Naturalization is a legal process the can be followed in order to become a Canadian citizen. To become a Canadian citizen by Naturalization ALL the following criteria must be met:

7 Citizenship by Naturalization Be 18 years of age or older 1-Strongly Disagree; 2-Disagree; 3-Agree; 4-Strongly Agree

8 Citizenship by Naturalization Be a permanent resident of Canada who came to Canada legally (whether as an immigrant or a refugee) 1-Strongly Disagree; 2-Disagree; 3-Agree; 4-Strongly Agree

9 Citizenship by Naturalization Have lived in Canada for three of the four years prior to applying for citizenship 1-Strongly Disagree; 2-Disagree; 3-Agree; 4-Strongly Agree

10 Citizenship by Naturalization Speak either English or French 1-Strongly Disagree; 2-Disagree; 3-Agree; 4-Strongly Agree

11 Citizenship by Naturalization You cannot become a citizen if you: have been convicted of an indictable (criminal) offence or an offence under the Citizenship Act in the three years before you applied; are currently charged with an indictable offence or an offence under the Citizenship Act; are in prison, on parole or on probation; are under a removal order (have been ordered by Canadian officials to leave Canada); are under investigation for, are charged with, or have been convicted of a war crime or a crime against humanity; or you have had your Canadian citizenship taken away in the past five years. 1-Strongly Disagree; 2-Disagree; 3-Agree; 4-Strongly Agree Criminal History

13 Citizenship by Naturalization Understand Canada’s system of government and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship 1-Strongly Disagree; 2-Disagree; 3-Agree; 4-Strongly Agree
