Unterschiede U – FH:
Die Bedeutung der FH für die dt. Hochschullandschaft und die Wirtschaft darf nicht unterschätzt werden. Oft enge Anbindung an Betriebe und Unternehmen, praxisrelevante Ausbildungsinhalte, FH-Ingenieure werden oft lieber genommen, als Uni-Abgänger (mit breiterem oder tieferem, aber oft theoretisch-abstraktem Wissen).
Was die Studenten dabei verlockt, ist vor allem der fast durchweg schnellere Weg in den Beruf. Denn das Studium an Fachhochschulen - und das ist sein besonderes Kennzeichen - ist sehr praxisorientiert. Straff organisierte Studiengänge, Unterricht in kleinen Gruppen, studienbegleitende Prüfungen und ein an den Notwendigkeiten der beruflichen Praxis ausgerichtetes Fächerangebot ermöglichen kürzere Durchschnittsstudienzeiten, als sie an den Universitäten in der Regel erreicht werden.
Drei Prozent weniger Studierende an deutschen Hochschulen
(dom.) Wie das Statistische Bundesamt mitteilt, sind im Wintersemester 2004/2005 an den Hochschulen in Deutschland 1,966 Millionen Studierende eingeschrieben. Dies sind fast oder drei Prozent weniger als im Vorjahr. An Universitäten oder vergleichbaren Hochschulen studieren im laufenden Wintersemester 1,37 Millionen Frauen und Männer, das sind 70 Prozent aller Studierenden. 29 Prozent studieren an Fach- oder Verwaltungsfachhochschulen, an Kunsthochschulen 2 Prozent. Der Frauenanteil erreichte mit 47,9 Prozent einen neuen Höchstwert.
