2. Who was Abraham Lincoln? Abraham Lincoln was the 16 th president of the United States. He was President 1861-1865. In 1865 he was assassinated by actor John Wilkes Booth. Booth was eventually found hiding in a farmhouse in Virginia. The soldiers cornered him and shot him in the neck.
