2. Who is the player? Lionel Messi was born on the 24 th of June 1987. He is from Rosario, Argentina. Messi started playing football at a young age. At the age of 5, Messi played in a local football club called Grandoli. The club’s coach was Messi’s father, Jorge.

3. What club and country does he play for? Messi now plays for FCB (Football Club Barcelona). FCB was founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, English, Catalan footballers. The FCB motto is “Més que un club” which means “More than a club”. The club is the second richest football club.

4. How long has he been playing? What position does he play ? Messi has been playing in FCB since 2000. It has been 11 years. Messi plays second striker and a left winger.

5. What does this player do on the field that makes them good? Messi is so good on the field because he runs fast and he shoots goals a lot. He is one of the most famous football players in the wrold because of that.

6. Why do you enjoy watching this football player more than others? I enjoy watching Messi more than the other players because he is my favourite player and because he plays very well. He knows how to get the ball if the ball is with a player from another team.
