7 Technology and Capital Projects Levy Currently at $17.0 million Expires December 2015 Current tax burden is $0.43 per $1,000 of assessed value Uses Computer & classroom technology upgrades to support instruction One-to-one technology program currently being piloted at Sammamish High School Puts Technology Instruction Curriculum Leaders in every school Ongoing curriculum development Large-scale maintenance projects – roofs, flooring, mechanical systems, etc. Improvement/replacement of school sports fields and structures 7

8 Phase III Capital Construction Bond Measure Authorize the District to sell an additional $450 million in capital bonds to rebuild older facilities and add capacity for growth: Rebuilding 5 Elementary Schools – Bennett, Clyde Hill, Enatai, Puesta del Sol, and Stevenson Rebuilding 1 Middle School – Highland MS Remodeling International and Big Picture Schools Adding capacity to overcrowded schools – Newport HS & Woodridge Elementary Building two new schools Phase I (2002) and Phase II (2008) measures funded the rebuilding 11 of 16 elementary schools; 4 of 5 middle schools and all 4 comprehensive high schools. 8
