The God Head – So You Want Proof? The Gospel of Matthew Compiled by Pastor James Groce Edited into PowerPoint by Martyn Ballestero

Why is the Holy Ghost the father? Does Jesus have a surrogate Father? Father is NOT the Father! Matt. 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Matt. 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

"God with us." Is this the Trinity with us? What does ‘God’ mean in a Trinity? Matt. 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Who is Jehovah? Isa. 40:3 Is it the Trinity? Or the Father? Matt. 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Isa. 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Jesus is to baptize with the Holy Ghost? Why not the Holy Ghost to baptize "himself?" Matt. 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Matt. 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Who is the "Spirit of God?" Isn't God a Spirit? John 4:24 3:17. A voice does not necessitate "another person." Indicates the HG speaking by what is said, since the HG is the father. Matt. 1:18,20. Also, see Num. 22:28-30. Luke 19:40. Its not hard for God to speak or cause a bird to appear!

Why is the Father the only one to receive glory? Matt. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Are we not children of the Son and Holy Ghost? Matt. 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Is the Father perfect and not the Son or Holy Ghost? Matt. 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Why is the Father the only one to reward? Matt. 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Matt. 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Why are the Son and Holy Ghost not mentioned in the Lord’s prayer? Matt. 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matt. 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matt. 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. Matt. 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Matt. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Why is the Father the only one mentioned to forgive sin? Holy Ghost is never said to be able? Matt. 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Matt. 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Can't serve two masters? What about three? Matt. 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Why doesn't the Son or Holy Ghost know? Matt. 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Why doesn’t the Son or Holy Ghost give? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

What about the Son and Holy Ghost will? Matt. 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

What about the Holy Ghost? Matt. 9:6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

Father speaks? Isn't this the Holy Ghost duty? Matt. 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

What about the Father's name? Holy Ghost name? Matt. 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

What about the Son? The Holy Ghost? Matt. 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

What about the Holy Ghost? Matt. 10:40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

What about the Holy Ghost? Doesn't know the Father or Son? Matt. 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Which Spirit? Father's? Son's? Or Holy Ghost? Matt. 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. Matt. 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you

What about blasphemy against the Father? Matt. 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. Matt. 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Does the Holy Ghost not have a will? Matt. 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Why don't the Son and Holy Ghost have a kingdom? Matt. 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

It's the Holy Ghost duty to reveal, teach, and guide? The Father is out of His role! Matt. 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Does the Holy Ghost not reward? Matt. 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Did Peter know about the Trinity? Why not build for the Father and Holy Ghost? Matt. 17:4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

Who spoke? Matt. 1:18, 20 Why is the Holy Ghost not mentioned here? Matt. 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Does the Son and Holy Ghost have a face also? Matt. 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Does the Holy Ghost not have a will? Matt. 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

What will the Holy Ghost do? Nothing? Matt. 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Son and Holy Ghost have no say in our forgiveness? Matt. 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

One God!! Matt. 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Son and Holy Ghost not prepare anything? Were the places not already taken? Co-equal? Matt. 20:23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

What role does the Holy Ghost play? Left out? Matt. 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. Matt. 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Matt. 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

"Him" that sitteth on the throne? Only one? Matt. 23:22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

Goes thru the list, and omits the Holy Ghost? No man, Angels, but the Father. Matt. 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

The Son will sit on the Throne! Matt. 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

Son and Holy Ghost do not bless? Matt. 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Why did Jesus not pray the Holy Ghost? Matt. 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matt. 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Where are the Father and Holy Ghost? Matt. 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

All power? Co-equal? Matt. 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Single name that can refer to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost! Matt. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

The Bible is not a complete history book. It does give enough to know that Jesus is the Christ, and that by believing you can have life in his name! What about the Father's name? The Holy Ghost? Does it give enough to believe in a Trinity? In light of the many questions Jesus raises here, the reader should be left with one answer! Jesus was not the "second person" in a Trinity, but he was the manifestation of the One and Only True God! The One Eternal Spirit who spoke in different ways. In light of the Evidence, when you know Jesus you know the One True God!
