1 Save Crowes Nest Farm!

2 Why are we doing this project? Because we want to save Crowes Nest Farm and help them because they are stuck in a drought, and they are running out of money to buy feed, and they are running out of water. Drought: a long period of time with very little rain.

3 Introducing the producer Producers: plants are called producers because they can produce there own food. Produce: produce means to make your own food.

4 Hay What does hay need to survive: sun, water, soil, air. the drought effects hay because there is too much sun, and it dries up the ground and cracks it. the drought effects hay because there is too much sun, and it dries up the ground and cracks it.

5 Herbs Herbs need air, soil, water, and sun. The drought effects herbs because there is too much sun and it dries up the ground and cracks it.

7 Introducing the Consumers Consumers: animals are called consumers because they can’t produce their own food so they have to consume their own food. Consume: consume means to take their own things.

8 Donkey A donkey needs water, grass, hay, and straw to survive. The sun dries up the water and kills all the grass that the donkey needs to eat.

9 bobcat The bobcat needs water, and 1.5-2.5 lbs of meat. The drought effects the bobcat by drying up all the water and kills their food.

10 Porcupine The porcupine needs water, herbs, twigs, and grass. The drought effects the porcupine by drying up the water, and kills its food.

11 Corn Snake The corn snake needs water, and small rodents to survive. The drought effects the corn snake by drying up the water and killing its food.

12 Red Tailed Hawk The red tailed hawk needs water and 4-5 OZ of meat to survive. The drought effects the red tailed hawk by drying up the water and kills its food

14 How to save the producers We have a plan to bring a well to crowes nest farm so the producers have water, and we could put the producers in a green house to protect it from all the sun.

15 How to save the consumers We had a plan to bring a well to Crowes Nest Farm, like the “how to save the producers” slide, and hire volunterrs to bring food to the farm so they can survive.
