6 Student Expectations A-TECH students are required to take core courses and program area courses. A-TECH students are required to take core courses and program area courses. 9 th – 11 th Graders take 8 classes 9 th – 11 th Graders take 8 classes 12 th Graders must take a minimum of 4 classes 12 th Graders must take a minimum of 4 classes

7 Timetable For Registration Teacher recommendation and student course selection now through Tuesday, February 25 th Students turn in registration materials to the Counseling Office no later than Wednesday, February 26 th Students will meet with A-TECH Counselors in March

8 What Does a Registration Form Look Like?

9 Course Registration Guide Review the 2014 – 2015 Course Registration Guide www.atech.orgwww.atech.org > Current Students Tab > Registration Guide Review course descriptions Check prerequisites Talk with your teachers and parent/guardian

10 Core Teacher Recommendations Ask your core teachers for recommendations and to sign your registration form English Mathematics Science Social Studies

11 Core Course Selection After reviewing the Registration Guide, getting teacher recommendations, and talking with your parent/guardian, Select your core courses

12 Program Area Teachers Ask program area teachers: which course(s) you will take next year about recommended electives in your program area Program courses will automatically be added to your schedule.

13 Elective Teachers Ask elective teachers for their advice on continuing in an elective or pursuing an elective based on your interests. Some electives require teacher approval

14 Elective Courses Choose electives in order of preference. If you do not choose electives, they will be chosen for you. If a scheduling conflict arises with your elective choices, your counselor will choose another one.

15 Student Aide & Student Tutor Request these contracts from the teacher(s) that you would like to work with. You may only earn Student Aide credit once. You may only earn Student Tutor credit once.

16 Office Aide Contracts are available from your Counselor You may earn two credits of Office Aide No F’s the previous semester No F’s the previous semester Good attendance and citizenship Good attendance and citizenship

19 AP Contract An AP Contract is necessary if you plan to enroll in one or more AP classes. AP students are expected to take the AP exam in May.

20 Are You an Athlete? Complete a Sports Participation Form (available from Student Services) Requests for 8 th period PE or Sports Guidance are considered on a case-by-case basis. If there is a conflict with your core or program area courses, you are expected to remain on campus.

21 Signatures Registration forms will not be processed without both student and parent signatures, date, phone number, and email address (if available).
