3 This disease can be life threatening.  Tooth enamel defects  Damage to the nervous system  Increased risk of cancer  Organ disorders  Pancreatic disease  Internal hemorrhaging

4  1 in 133 Americans have celiac disease  An estimated 2.8 million Americans across all races ages and genders suffer from celiac  6 to 10 years is the average time a person waits to be correctly diagnosed  5,000-12,000 dollars is the average cost misdiagnosis per person/year of celiac, not including lost work time

5 Celiac disease is a genetic disorder that affects at least 1 in 133 Americans. Symptoms of celiac disease can range from the classic features, such as diarrhea, weight loss, and malnutrition. The disease mostly affects people of European descent. The only acceptable treatment for celiac disease is strict adherence to a 100% gluten-free diet for life.
