1 Science Fiction Presented by Tirzah Reilly

2 First characteristic- The Future Usually a Sci-Fi film will be featured in a futuristic time period. (If it is in the past or present, it will have a changed feature or technology that seems unusually advanced.)

3 Second Characteristic- Science/Technology The kind of science found in Sci-Fi films will be advanced and will usually have a lot of technology as part of it. Some examples: –Robots/Androids/Bionic human –Spaceships –Time machines –Weird Formulas (like a drink that makes you morph or an advanced poison) –Magic (very rare!)

4 Third Characteristic- Creatures Since most of the films are in the future, there will most likely be space travel and humans meeting or discovering aliens. Aliens (the main kind of creature seen in Sci-Fi) can be friends, enemies, or animal-like. When other creatures are introduced, they are most likely mythical or basically made-up.

5 Wall-E Summery: Humans have left the Earth as a large trash dump while they live a ‘paradise’ in space. Wall-E is a trash clean-up robot that is very curious and soon love- struck with a beautiful robot named Eve… Sci-Fi aspects: –Robots –Space Travel –Earth disaster –Advanced Technology

6 Sci-Fi aspects: Space Travel Aliens/New Species Advanced technology Advanced medicines Summery: In the future, a war veteran named Jake goes on a mission on another world (other planet) called Pandora. His goal is to destroy a native species called the "Na'vi" in order for a mining project to go on. Surprisingly, Jake finds himself eventually siding with the Na'vi to stop the destruction brought by the humans.

7 Iconic Figure- Captain Kirk Captain James T. Kirk is a well known character from the Sci-Fi films Star Trek. He is the captain of the spaceship Enterprise in the future (around the year 2250’s). He has many adventures (sometimes violent) exploring other planets, going back in time and interacting with aliens.

8 Iconic Figure 2- George Lucas George Lucas is well known for being the creator of the world- wide popular Sci-Fi films Star Wars. He formed his own company, called Lucasfilm Ltd. Lucas was nominated four times for an Oscar, twice for an Emmy, twice for golden Globe, and has won Hollywood Movie of the Year and the Saturn Award.
