2 UNIT 2 – A02 – Creating my Website The purpose of this assessment objective is to create 5 web pages containing images and text. 1.You create a template page containing your banner and navigation buttons 2.You then use this template to create the five pages in your website, adapting the template as required

3 Asessment Criteria A02 Task What’s involved 1 Create a template page (.dwt file) Put your banner and navigation buttons on 2 Create 5 web pages from your template (homepage, feedback page and three others as per your design 3 Add content to your homepage 4 Add content to 3 other pages 5 Create your feedback page (to get feedback on your web site from visitors 6 Print out all pages 7 Screenshot your web folder showing the use of sub-folders and appropriate file names 8 Screenshot backing up your website folder to a memory stick

4 Creating your website STEP 1 Find the Folder called “OCR Website” in ICT Resources (My Computer – ICT Resources – OCR NATIONAL – 11AV1 – UNIT 2) and copy & paste to your Unit 2 folder in your own work area

5 Creating your website STEP 2 Copy your UNIT 2 Images folder into your OCR website folder All your collected images for your website plus the banner and buttons created in FIREWORKS should be stored in here

6 Creating your website – STEP 3 Open up your OCR Website folder from your own work area and load the template page

7 Creating your website – STEP 4 Use a table on your template page to lay out the basic structure of your page (Insert – Table)

8 Inserting a table image Banner TEXT I use my page plan to set up a basic table structure to hold my banner, navigation buttons and then spare rows and columns for text and images. I can change the structure of my table by adding or deleting columns or rows or by merging cells.

10 Your template page Open your template page and use it to create the five pages of your web site. Every page should be saved as a HTML document

14 What questions? Decide what questions you will ask your web page visitors to get feedback on your site You need feedback about how useful they found your site? How easy they found it to navigate? Ask questions about images, style and layout

15 Answers to questions We use form items to provide spaces for our visitor to answer the questions we have asked

16 Using tables You may find it useful to insert a table first to hold the Question numbers, the questions and then the form items for the answers

18 Using Form items to create a feedback page. Go to the insert menu – then FORM menu and you will see a list of items that can be used to create “spaces where your web page user can enter the answer to questions

19 FORM items previewed in a web page This is a TEXT FIELD item These are CHECKBOX items – good when you have a restricted number of answers – the user clicks the correct choice
