The CLIMATE ALLIANCE... is a European city network of 1.400 member cities and municipalities, with its members committing voluntarily to ambitious targets:- minus 10% CO2 emissions every 5 years, - halving at the latest until 2030 organises exchange of experience, promotes achievements, develops supporting tools (methodology, concrete measures, campaigns to involve citizens,...), represents towards national and EU level

CLIMATE COMPASS... is a method to support the development of local climate action plans builds on local experience and framework conditions proposes a structured process offers support by trained Climate Compass promoters

CLIMATE COMPASS is for... local and regional authorities, where the decision to become active in climate change policies has been taken, but where no/low capacities and know-how are available for developing a comprehensive strategy.

CLIMATE COMPASS aims at... saving money and time demonstrating the benefits of climate change policies contributing to awareness raising of all people involved an integration into other, ongoing planning processes (Local Agenda 21,...)

The Role of the CC Promoter The Climate Compass Promoter is a consultant with his/her expertise in a specific field of action with his/her knowledge in local climate change strategies, etc. acquired in the CC Training a motivator by convincing local stakeholders of the necessity and benefits of local climate change policies a facilitator by organising / proposing the frame for the process by working for consensual solutions
