 1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."

 1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then.  Time of distress that has never happened before  Time of uproar against Israel: the world against Israel  Michael, is the protector of Israel, will arise to protect Israel

 But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.  There is a Book- the Book of Life-  Some people will have their names written in that book: they will be delivered  There will be the resurrection of the dead: ◦ Some will be raised to everlasting life ◦ Others to shame and everlasting contempt

3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. ◦ WISE- THOSE WHO LEAD OTHERS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS ◦ WILL SHINE LIKE THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE HEAVENS

 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.“  Daniel had to write and seal the words of the scroll  In the time of the end people would study the scroll and would understand its meaning.

 5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river,  "How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?"  When will these things happen?

 7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.“  The time will come after 2 things happen: ◦ 1 st : after 2 times and a half ◦ 2 nd : when the power of Israel is broken (scattered)

 8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"  9 He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.  11 "From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.  13 "As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance."

 8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?“  Daniel didn’t understand the explanation and wanted to know more about it.  He wanted to know what else would happen and the results of it.  He wants more revelation and more prophecy about the things of the end times.

 9 He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.  Daniel could not receive the understanding at that time  The understanding of it would be released in a future time __ the time of the end

 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.  There will be types of people: ◦ Those who will purify themselves ◦ Those who will continue to be wicked  Only the wise will understand the revelation of the prophecy  The wicked will not understand it

 11 "From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. ◦ After the daily sacrifice is abolished in the Temple of Jerusalem ◦ After the abomination that causes desolation is set up in the Temple of Jerusalem ◦ After the period known as the Great Tribulation is finished

 13 "As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.“  THIS IS THE ORDER OF THINGS TILL THE END: ◦ Daniel would have to live his life till the end of it. ◦ Then he would rest (die) and wait for resurrection day ◦ After the resurrection day he will receive his allotted inheritance

 THE ORDER IS THE SAME FOR ALL MANKIND: ◦ We will our lives till the end. ◦ Then we will die and wait for resurrection day ◦ After the resurrection day we will face one of the following possibilities:  Those who were wise during their lifetime and walked in righteousness: will raise to everlasting life and receive their allotted inheritance  Those who walked in wickedness during their lifetime: will raise up to shame and everlasting contempt

IT WILL DEPEND ON HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE NOW  Everlasting life will be given to those who accept God’s love in Christ: John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

IT WILL DEPEND ON HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE NOW  Everlasting life PLUS the allotted inheritance or reward: 18 The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great— and for destroying those who destroy the earth.“ (Rev. 11:18)

IT WILL DEPEND ON HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE NOW  Everlasting life PLUS the allotted inheritance or reward:  12 "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. (Rev. 22:12)

IT WILL DEPEND ON HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE NOW  Everlasting contempt  Everlasting contempt: is an eternal condemnation because of a life lived away from God’s ways sins and without accepting the salvation in Christ. It is for those who do not believe in Christ.  16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. [

 ETERNAL LIFE WITH YOUR SELECTED REWARD? OR  ETERNAL CONDEMNATION AND SHAME?
