1 What is STARFLEET? Welcome to Region 1
STARFLEET, the World's Largest Fan-Run Trek Fan Organization, was founded in 1974, and provides its membership (3700+) with a common interest base: appreciation of Star Trek: The Greatest Human Adventure. Hundreds of chapters in Regions worldwide unite members into local fandom as well as the International organization. Welcome to Region 1

19 USS Tempest NCC-21566 Tempest is a correspondence chapter of Starfleet International (SFI) and has a small membership.  The chapter has been very active in such programs as the Region One Alien Ambassador Corps the Regional Division Chief (RDC) program the Region 1 Summit and even the 1999  International Conference. The projects that the Tempest gets into now include Overseas Coupon Project, Stampede and Region One Relief Fund. Our membership ranges from California to Virginia while our CO lives in Ohio. The Shuttle KingFisher NCC-18076/1 is a SFI "Chapter-in-training". Anyone interested in joining or learning about the KingFisher is welcome to join this group. The Shuttle KingFisher is a meeting chapter centered in Hickory, North Carolina, but open to anyone who wants to join. You do not have to be a member of SFI to join this group, just someone who want to have some fun in the Star Trek Universe.
